Elizabeth Jane Thomas
Drawing on diverse influences derived from teaching in Europe, Asia, Africa, South America and the Caribbean, in environments that range from slums to elite private schools, Jane has a unique depth of knowledge and understanding when it comes to helping teachers create their own engaging, effective lessons. She is an advocate of using literature to teach language, and has a preference for traditional techniques and methods presented by teachers unafraid to bring their personality into the classroom. An Oxford educated Senior IB Examiner, she has a critical eye for detail that helps her suggest individualised solutions appropriate to a teacher’s and school’s specific needs. She is also a huge fan
of subjects criss-crossing more in schools - so for example when students are studying the Romantics in Literature they can be reading about the Victorians in History. When studying WW1 poets Sassoon and Owen, they’re doing WW1 in History - Geography could even get involved, Science/Physics/Maths could get involved.
